Põhjala beer weeks!

We have ordered some special Põhjala Brewing beers for you to try and are having Põhjala beer weeks! Põhjala is an award-winning Estonian micro-brewery.
(Limited availability – for as long as products last)

ON TAP:

Põhjala Mets – Black Forest IPA 7.0 %
A forest-inspired black IPA brewed with hand picked spruce tips and forest blueberries.

Appearance: Jet black with a dark brown head.
Nose: Spruce tips, blueberry leaves, pine resin jump out of the glass – the smells of a forest morning after rainfall.
Taste: A rich citrus hop character and intense lemony touch from spruce tips hit the tongue first. Berries and red fruits – blueberries, raspberries, and redcurrant come through, balanced by an assertive bitterness. Slight coffee notes compliment a rich caramel maltiness.
Malts: Pale malt, Munich malt, Cara Pale, Cara 150, Cara 300, Black Malt, Carafa Type 2 Special, Flaked Barley
Hops: Magnum, Amarillo, Columbus, Mosaic, Yellow Sub, spruce tips, forest blueberries

BOTTLES: (already on shelves)

Põhjala Must Kuld Kolumbia – Coffee Porter 7,8%
A special version of the Must Kuld porter, brewed with a Caturra coffee from Finca La Chorrera in Colombia.
Rich and full cold brewed coffee comes through, with a huge milk chocolate and red fruit kick. Raspberry milkshake, vanilla, honey, and strong blackcurrant coffee notes.
9€

Põhjala Routa 2.0 – Lingonberry IPA 6,7% (except this one, waiting for it to arrive)
A Finnish-inspired juicy IPA, brewed with rye and lingonberries.
Like the aroma, the first sip delivers a juicy, slightly sour berry kick. The refreshing citrus is complimented by a white wine like acidity, before returning once again to the berry sensation — all backed up by an assertive malt body — slightly spicy rye mixed with a sticky, hoppy mouthfeel all the way to the end.

Cellar Series:

Põhjala Pime Öö PX – Pedro Ximenez Sherry Barrel Aged Imperial Stout 13.9 %
Sherry barrel aged limited version of Pime Öö.
Big and bold, this immediately makes the Pedro Ximenez felt. Luxuriously sweet, with a heavy presence of cherry and chocolate. The raisin character from the aroma comes through again, sliding down the tongue smoothly. Best enjoyed when sipped by a fireplace.
12€

Põhjala Odravein Bourbon BA – Bourbon Barrel Aged Barley Wine 16.0 %
The anniversary barley wine, aged for 6 months in bourbon barrels.
Again, an avalanche of vanilla comes through, supported by a light orange marmalade. Tart cranberries, ginger snchapps, and toasted bread quickly come through, supported by a hint of alcohol and rich oak.
12€

Põhjala Mel Gibson – Scotch Whisky Barrel Aged Scottish Ale 12.0 % Scottish Ale aged for months in Highland and Island Scotch Whisky barrels. Immediately the tastes of the rolling Glens of the Scottish Highlands will come to mind — rich warming grains, sweet honey, pecans and a hint of alcohol. Right after will come the lapping waves on a rain-battered North sea island — the gentle smoke of a peat campfire, the smell of the sea on a cold night, exotic liquorice, and a cracked black pepper spiciness to finish up.
